Later, a high-speed train ride connects to the laid-back capital, Vientiane, then flights take the group south to the fertile Bolaven Plateau with its coffee plantations and waterfalls. The journey continues to the 4,000 Islands region, where quiet villages invite cycling. Crossing into Cambodia, the tour visits remote temple complexes including Koh Ker, before finishing with several days at Angkor, where the grandeur of Angkor Wat and the atmospheric Bayon temple are explored in earnest.
