About the trip

This six-night tour with G Adventures moves from the village life of Tempasan and its rice terraces to Lombok’s wilderness and the coral reefs around Gili Trawangan. Time is spent with locals learning traditional weaving and cooking, before heading out on a hike through Black Monkey Forest and a snorkelling trip across the three Gili Islands.

A day in the weaving village of Pringgasela and an afternoon tea at Aranka homestay offer connections to rural life rarely found on more hurried trips. Gili Trawangan’s sandy beaches serve as a backdrop for cycling, yoga and sunsets that stretch on longer than expected. A modest night’s accommodation, often with shared bathrooms and rooms, keeps the focus on the landscape and local experiences rather than creature comforts.
