About the trip

This brisk six-night tour by G Adventures moves through some of Jordan's most striking locales with a blend of active hiking, cultural sites and rest. It opens with a visit to Jerash, where you can walk among remarkably intact Roman columns and theatres that speak of a time when this was one of the empire's finest provincial cities.

Next, the tour threads through the sandstone formations of Little Petra before a hike along a less-trodden back door trail into the better-known Petra, noted for its intricate rock-cut architecture. Staying overnight in a desert camp adds a welcome change of pace amid the star-studded skies of Wadi Rum after a 4x4 ride.

Finally, the tour winds down at the waters of the Dead Sea, where the unusual buoyancy from its salt-heavy waters invites leisurely floating. There are also moments set aside to appreciate the mosaics of Madaba and the Red Sea coast of Aqaba.
